August 11 is when the OPPO N1 mini will launch in India

OPPO had been teasing the N1 mini via their social feeds through the past week or so. The N1 mini, as the name suggests, is the mini version of the OPPO N1 that happens to be the Chinese phone maker's first phone in India, launched back in January. OPPO hasn't revealed the N1 mini specs set for India, but we assume it won't be very different from the version OPPO unveiled earlier. Here is what the N1 mini is believed to be having under the hood. Specifications 5-inch 1280 x 720p display 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC 2GB RAM 16GB on-board ROM 13 mega-pixel swivel camera 2140mAh battery Android v4.3 It's quite clear that the N1 mini will be a camera-centric device with the above mentioned specifications. It is worthy to note that the 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC that the N1 mini is expected to feature powers the (expectedly) much cheaper Xiaomi Redmi 1S as well.

Here is when you can expect the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Redmi Note, Mi 4 and Mi Pad to launch in India

Xiaomi drew a lot of flak for not meeting the demand that their first India launch, the Mi 3 saw. Along with the Mi 3, Xiaomi announced a couple of other devices including the cost-effective Redmi 1S and the octa-core monster, the Redmi Note. Considering the demand that the Mi 3 saw, it is but natural for one to feel that it's going to be quite a bit more for the cheaper Redmi phones. Xiaomi did say that the phones would be made available sometime in August, but didn't specify a date. However, Xiaomi's Hugo Barra took to BGR India's comments to delve details. According to Hugo's article, the Xiaomi Mi 4 and the Mi Pad will be available in India by the 'end of the year'. "Launch will be in a few weeks, am hoping to announce an official date at the end of next week (still finalizing some logistics details)", is what Barra said about the Redmi 1S, which I think is going to be the one to watch out for. About the Redmi Note, Barra added that it'll be launched before the Diwali season, which happens to be a favourite shopping time for Indians. Lastly, Barra also mentioned that Xiaomi is ...

Asus has launched the phone in two versions viz, the A400CG and A450CG. The former has a 4 inch screen and a 5-megapixel camera, whereas the latter, which is not available for sale in India yet, has a 4.5-inch screen and an 8-megapixel camera. Let's take a detailed look at the Asus Zenfone 4, A400CG black color model in our review. Unboxing Check out our unboxing of the Asus Zenfone 4 to know about the box contents. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBr3spFmxts Design and Hardware The ZenFone 4 is compact and can be easily operated with a single hand. It is a bit bulky and curved at the back, which gives a good grip to otherwise small handset. The phone comes in five colors - Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue, and Solar Yellow. It has a 0.3 VGA front facing camera along with LED notification on the front. It has proximity sensor, but lacks an ambient light sensor for automatic brightness control. Purported photos of iPad Air 2 surface in new leak

Photos of an alleged iPad Air 2 rear shell have leaked online. The images show a rear shell with a redesigned speaker grill and a relocated rear microphone next to the camera. Some photos have been published to the Chinese social networking site Weibo, which are believed to be the rear shell casing for the next-generation iPad Air.  As per the images, it looks like Apple has changed the size and position of the speakers. The speaker grille now features one row of large holes instead of two rows of tiny holes, and it looks like the rear mic has been relocated. It also shows recessed volume control buttons and a new microphone next to the camera lens. The Apple iPad Air 2 is expected to include the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, embedded in the home button. In addition, the new iPad Air could also feature a faster A8 processor, which is expected to improve the tablet's performance and battery life. Despite a handful of changes, the overall design does bear a striking resemblance to the current design of the iPad. The latest photo leak comes months after the Front panels of the iPad Air 2 were leaked in April this year. via: Apple Insider

Samsung Galaxy Alpha with metal sides surfaces in white

Live images of the Black Samsung Galaxy Alpha showed up last month. It was said to come with aluminium build on the sides, now new images of the white variant of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha has surfaced on a weibo, showing off the phone's brushed metal frame on the sides of the phone. It also has shiny chrome rim around. According to earlier rumors, the Galaxy Alpha is expected to come with a 4.8-inch 720p screen, octa-core Exynos 5 Octa 5433 or quad-core Snapdragon 805 SoC,  12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera,  2 GB of RAM, 32GB of non-expandable internal memory Android 4.4.4 (KitKat), fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor. It would also come in 6.7-inch version, according to the same weibo user who leaked these images. Last week in the earnings release, Samsung announced that it would release premium mobile devices and a new flagship smartphone with a large screen. The premium device could be the Galaxy Alpha and the large-screen flagship device could be Note 4.  The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is expected to be unveiled on August 13th, ahead of the Galaxy Note 4 event at IFA in Berlin on September 3rd. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch scheduled for 3rd September ahead of IFA in Berlin

Like every year, Samsung will announce the next generation of the Galaxy Note 4 later this year. Following tradition, it was expected that the Korean giant would launch it at IFA and right on cue, Samsung has started sending out invitations for its Galaxy Note 4 launch event ahead of IFA in Berlin. There's been a lot of speculation around the capabilities of the next generation Note phablet and once again, it is expected to ship in both Qualcomm and Exynos variants depending on the market. The screen might see another bump up in size but most rumors still maintain a 5.7" Super AMOLED screen is what you'll get. What has changed however is the resolution and you should expect to see a 2K panel here which should result in a nice bump in the pixel density. A retina sensor might also make the cut though its effectiveness in low lighting conditions would be questionable. Being a part of the Note series, the phablet will continue to have an active digitizer with a stylus thrown in for good measure. Rumors abound that the company is planning to use new types of materials in the handset and that it will also include a ...

Bioshock 1 headed to the iPhone and iPad later this year

Mobile gamers all around have a lot to look forward to later this year. 2K Games, the studio behind the hit franchise, BioShock, today announced that the first game in the franchise will be making its way over to the iOS platform. The company says that BioShock on the iPhone and iPad will be a premium game and hence will carry a price tag that will be anywhere from $10 to $30. The studio has managed to port the entire game without cutting corners on the essentials. Lighting, shadows have taken a hit and the textures are not as high resolution as on PC or consoles. As Engadget reports, fire effects in particular are poor to look at. Given the medium, the game loses the grandeur of the original and it really is best placed with a controller in hand. That said, you can still play the game using a controller on the iPad. While there is no word on pricing, we do know that the game will not run on older iOS devices. You'll need an iPad Air, iPad Mini 2, iPad 4 or the iPhone 5/5c or 5s to be able to play it. The game will also not include ...
