Acer has launched the Iconia A1-713, the company's new Android tablet in India. It was unveiled at the New York event back in April along with the A1-713HD and packs a  7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It has 3G support via SIM card slot, voice calling and has anodized silver finish. Announcing the launch, S. Motorola overtakes Nokia to become India’s 4th largest smartphone vendor

Motorola is the fourth largest smartphone vendor by shipments in Q2 2014, overtaking Nokia (Microsoft), according to handset sales tracker Canalys. Few months back Motorola announced that it shipped 6.5 million smartphones globally in Q1 2014. According to the report, Motorola shipped 379,310 units of smartphones in India in Q1. The company did not reveal its global shipment data for Q2 yet, but the Canalys report says Motorola has shipped 955,650 units in the Q2 2014. Microsoft, that now owns Nokia has just 633,720 and grabs the fifth spot in the ranking. As usual, Samsung, Micromax and Karbonn are the top three smartphone vendors in India based on shipments. Sony, that was in the fourth spot in Q4 2013 has been bushed back in both the first and second quarters of 2014. Smart phone market sequentially grew 9% in the second quarter of 2014 and the increase in sales of Moto G helped Motorola to grab the fourth spot, says the report. Spice Retail launched Stellar 520 and Stellar 526 handsets in the Stellar range last week. Now the Smart Flo Mi-359 and Stellar 451 3G, affordable smartphones running on Android 4.4 are available on Saholic. Flappy Bird is back as Flappy Birds Family for Amazon Fire TV

Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen said in an interview back in May that he would bring back the game in August with multiplayer capability. He also said that the game would be less addictive than the original. Now the creator has released a new game, Flappy Birds Family for Amazon Fire TV, an Android box that was unveiled recently. It suddenly became a phenomenon on both Android and iOS platforms months after it was released . It also became the No.1 game on both these stores and was generating thousands of dollars in revenue from in-app ads. Suddenly the creator decided to pull the game from the app stores. The new Flappy Birds Family game has different-colored bird characters, local multiplayer mode and more obstacles like ghosts, for players to avoid. Micromax rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for Canvas Knight A350

Micromax started selling Canvas Knight A350 with Android 4.4 (KitKat) back in June and it relaunched the Canvas Knight officially with 2GB of free data for Vodafone customers. At that time the company did not reveal any details about the KitKat update for current users. Now the company has started rolling out Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Canvas Knight users, according to DroidGuru.in.
